The elemental orbs shot into the sky and whirled around each other, faster and faster until they looked like a rainbow halo that eventually smeared into white. Looking on in wonder, Pokkle had time to think of five puns about orbs, two of them unprintable, three about things whirling around, another five about rainbows, then there was a blinding flash and a sickening outpouring of bright light, random flashes of gaudy colours like facets of one huge cracked gem. When he next opened his eyes, the orbs had fused together into one multicoloured sphere that surged with overpowering energy. Pipiro held out her hands and the combined elemental magic poured down into her fingertips. She turned to the beast, her eyes narrowing, her face a determined frown, then she hurled all of her newfound magic at the great demon.
