"In the world we fled from," the Sages of New Mota told him, "There was a recurring cycle of fate. Every thousand years, an evil would awaken and throw the solar system into turmoil. While countless lives were lost, there was balance in the fact that the world and everyone in it was guaranteed a great destiny. A story, which is the same thing as a soul."

 

"Out in the yawning maw of the void," continued the Sage, "There are places where you can be literally anything you want, no matter how sacred or profane, but it means nothing, for there is no true soul behind it. It is merely a mask. Tomorrow it will fade away."

 

 

"In our exodus, we are currently in between these two states of existence," warned the Sage, "If we continue down this path, we will lose the light of our home world and enter the unknown. We have a chance to bring our world with us, though, and defy the cold forces of nature that would strip our fate from us. But there's one thing you have to understand - we're also bringing the evil with us. It's here now, sleeping. Awaiting our signal."
