Our next challenge was suggested by
vanarcana and is: Usurp.
Def:
1. take (a position of power or importance) illegally or by force.
"Richard usurped the throne"
synonyms: seize, take over, take possession of, take, commandeer, wrest, assume, expropriate
2. take the place of (someone in a position of power) illegally: supplant.
"the Hanoverian dynasty had usurped the Stuarts"
synonyms: oust, overthrow, remove, topple, unseat, depose, dethrone, supplant, replace
archaic
3. encroach or infringe upon (someone's rights).
"the Church had usurped upon the domain of the state"
Go ahead and twist the challenge however you want, it’s up to you. *g*
