He almost moans aloud when she breaks her lips from his, but then, she's always had that impact on him since the very first time they kissed. Some times, he still wonders how on Earth they ever ended up together, but every time they kiss, he's reminded again of the power she has over him. His Momma knows how to kiss him senseless, kiss him crazy, and almost totally control him with only the power of her lips. He's man enough to admit, even if just to himself, that she's got the power in their relationship.

"Just a minute," she murmurs, turning back to her locker. Watching her, he's reminded again of how lucky he is to have this tall, Amazon beauty on his arm, even if he still can't get her in the sack. He won't push her. He knows to push her toward that would be to push her away from him, and if he plays his cards right, which he knows very well how to do, when she's ready, he won't have to chase her. She'll come to him. He'll be the first one to --

Slater quickly shuts his locker. He's not trying to hide anything, but he does need something to hit in order to silence the groan he can feel rising in his throat. Damn, but his woman's awesome! He looks at her as she's looking at her Word of the Day calendar, just a little something he picked up for her last Christmas because he knows how much she enjoys advancing her vocabulary. She hasn't missed a word since.

"Contretemps," she's reading, and just watching the way her tongue and teeth move as she speaks makes his blood boil again. He'd almost think it's too early to be having these thoughts, but his Momma works him over any time she's just around him! The woman's hot, and she's all his! "An inopportune occurrence -- "

"Jess -- "

"Just a minute," she speaks quickly without tearing her eyes from the definition to look at him. "Am embarrassing mischance."

"You've read your word," he says, stepping in between her and her locker when she finishes. "Can I have your attention now?"

She grins down at him, her nose crinkling in the very subtle movement she knows drives him wild. He bites his bottom lip. "Can't wait, huh?"

"I don't wanna wait," he admits with a wink.

"Good," she says, leaning closer. "Neither do I."

She kisses him, and although her tongue doesn't enter his mouth this time, there's still something searing hot about her kiss. He's never known another woman who can kiss like she does, and he's known a lot of girls. But that's just the thing, he knows. They were girls, every one of them. His Jessi is a real woman, his first and the only one he can picture himself being with when he tries to look into their future. It doesn't make sense. He knows already their futures will pull them into two different directions. He's headed either for the military career his father wants for him or something to do with sports, and she's got far better things ahead of her.

She's got better man ahead of her. The idea hurts, but he knows she'll leave him behind. She'll be courted by the top lawyers from Harvard, and he can even see the President chasing after her, if one ever hits the White House who's single. Then again, that doesn't exactly stop them these days, but he knows it would stop his Jessi. She's got serious scruples, and she's very picky about the men she dates.

He's lucky she chooses him. She told him once that the guys she dates have to move her and he does. He's the first one, she confessed to him, who moves her just with the power of his kiss, not his mind or spirit. He almost took offense at that at the time until she kissed him again and assured him their different personalities don't matter. He knows they will one day, but he's going to enjoy every moment he's got with her while she does choose him.

Jessi rips her lips from his again as the bell rings. This time, a groan does escape him. "Gotta go," she gushes, fixing her lock over his shoulder. Only then does he realize that he leaned back into her locker and shut the door while they were kissing. He watches her run, her long legs, clad in the skin tight jeans she knows he enjoys, quickly eating up the steps to her first class.

Slater smiles as he's watching her, but then another locker door slams and he realizes he's not alone. He stands up quickly, but not quickly enough. A new guy to both the school and his team is smirking at him. "Ditched for another class again, huh?" The blonde shakes his head. "Man, I don't know what you're doing with a nerd like that -- "

It's been a while since Slater reacted without thoroughly thinking through the motions. He used to be bad about it when he first arrived at Bayside, but he was warned about the fighting. He almost lost Jessi and their friends and had to learn to cool his temper in order to stay here. He's been doing well, too, until this very moment. His fist strikes faster than he can think, acting on pure impulse, but even while he's knocking the guy to the floor, he hears Jessi's voice in his head again.

He smirks down at him as the guy's rubbing his jaw. "That wasn't an accident, but it was inopportune and embarrassing for you."

"A.C.!"

Slater doesn't even bother to groan in dismay or hang his head. Instead, he raises his curly locks and meets the Principal's disapproval with a grin. "I know," he says. "Detention. But it was worth it." And later, when detention does come and keeps him from playing in the game but Jessi kisses him before and after and even Belding admits that he understands why Slater decked the new guy, Slater knows he's definitely never gotten into trouble before for any better reason. But, still, he has to ask Jessi when he kisses her again that night before dropping her off. "Are you disappointed I didn't make the game, Momma?"

She gives him that look that means they both know he's being a thunderhead. "You know I don't care about those silly games." He knows, even though she has tried on a cheerleading outfit for him in secret. But then her hand touches his cheek softly. Her fingertips graze his flesh. She smiles at him, and he feels like the only man in the world. "But no, Poppa, I'm not disappointed in you. Ever." She kisses him, long, deep, and sweet. Suddenly, he no longer cares that their team lost tonight. He's still a winner, and he always will be as long as he's got her hand in his.
