Well, I certainly never minded. But, you know, it could have had a plot. The whole "dirty cops who extort sexual favours from prostitutes" thing makes for an interesting case. Ample opportunity for someone to write casefic with witty banter, fights and the obligatory h/c situation and more sex.

I must admit to a certain interest in exactly what Quinlan asked them to do... Given the way Quinlan looks at them sometimes especially!

Quinlan is a kinky bastard. He sees burn marks on a dead guy and thinks S&M games - what does that tell you?

As for what he asked them to do: Well, he didn't ask, really. He shouted a little, insulted them for a while, then admitted that maybe he needed someone outside the department to investigate this thing (dead hooker, other hookers saying cops are involved somehow, more dead hookers). Nick and Cody realised he was asking them for help without actually asking - naturally they took the chance to annoy Quinlan. (Nick: Cody, did you hear that? I think what the lieutenant is asking here is if we would be so kind as to help him with his investigation. - Cody: *smirks* You know what, Nick, I think you're right. Could it be that *you* are asking *our* help, Lieutenant? - Quinlan: *scowling* I don't even know why I came here, you good-for-nothing, beach volleyball playing goofs.) And then Murray asked them to play nice and Quinlan got the chance to annoy them back by suggesting an undercover gig (an idea that Murray *loved* and was very excited about). Nick and Cody had an argument about which one of them would play the hooker and Cody won. And then there was porn.

If either one of them ended up in hot pants, Quinlan wasn't about to complain. (And he - like the rest of King Harbour - can see that Nick & Cody are in love. Naturally he expected the porn.)
