Summary: Alto finds out you can't tune witches when their periods have synchronised and they all have PMS at once. In fact, you probably shouldn't be in the same town as them...
"Trust me, you wouldn't want to try and tune them right now. Being in the same locked room as one of them would be a really bad idea."
"You're sure? I can feel the magical instability from here. We'll never be able to get them to sing in concert..."
"Will we have time to prepare before the next invasion?"
"I can't exactly go and check with the Angels about their plans but I can assure you our songbirds will be right as rain by the end of the week."
"Does... does this happen often, then?"
"Like clockwork, every month."
"Is it contagious?"
"Not to you, and I've taken the herbs to avoid it. I could distribute them if it becomes an emergency. I'd rather not risk such things, though, as it could interfere with certain other factors of magical balance."
"Wait, this isn't related to..." Alto blushed. Medea's face lit up in amusement.
Alto frowned at Medea's words. She didn't seem at all fazed by the sudden chaos. The Conductor had been woken up by the fire bell to find Sakuya and Hilda in the courtyard, flinging spells at each other while screeching, apparently an argument over who had put on weight and who owed who a cake. He had then accidentally walked into a small army of Mordi's mud golems who had just broken into the cake store and were attacking anyone who interfered with their burglary. Mordi herself was locked in her room. Finally, he had spotted Lisette on a bench next to a distraught Popo, trying to calm her down. It reminded Alto a little of the last Angel invasion.
"You're sure? I can feel the magical instability from here. We'll never be able to get them to sing in concert..."
"There won't be a ritual today. They're taking a few days off," Medea told him firmly.

"Music isn't the only thing that synchronizes around witches, dear. If you're going to be the one who tunes their souls, at least learn the first thing about women. I tolerate it because you're young but I still spend quite a long time undoing the countless little mistakes you keep making. "
"... You're right. I probably should just stay out of everyone's way for a while."
"A wise tactical decision that may have just saved your life."
On his way back to his quarters, he discovered that the mud creatures had walked straight through Sakuya and Hilda's duel and were now on fire. He sighed and went to find Archibald.
