Ni no Kuni - Oliver - Challenge 242 'Purloin' - Tehexile
Title: Purrloiner
In his defense, it wasn't necessarily the cat who stole and ate an entire bag of cupcakes. A couple of other familiars had been waiting in reserve in their luxurious pet hotel, ready to tag in if their comrades became too exhausted to fight. All of them practically lived for snacks. It could even have conceivably been someone other than a familiar. A human or other animal from the physical plane wouldn't gain much sustenance or enjoyment from the tiny cakes made mostly of ethereal material. However, some animals weren't known for their common sense when selecting things to attempt to ingest. On the other hand, Oliver had no idea how an animal would break into the word of familiars, which only semi-physically existed and was warded by powerful spells, and why they would do so specifically to eat a bag of miniature bright blue cakes that smelled of nothing. As for familiars, out of the duck, the fish, the bee and the bipedal cat who was so renowned for his sleight of hand that his name was a pun relating to thievery, Oliver knew which one he thought was most likely to steal snacks, especially when said feline was looking distinctly smug and well fed.
Still, those big wide kitten eyes and those adorable little mews got him every time. He couldn't stay mad at the smartly dressed shorthair cat rubbing up against his legs and purring enthusiastically. Sighing, he made a mental note to go and search for more cakes out in the wild.
